Glass Bottles and Jars for Oils, Herbs and Cosmetics
Our glass bottles and jars are the same kind of containers we use for our own oils and butters. Many are made from Miron violet glass, a dark violet glass designed to block most visible light, which helps protect light-sensitive oils, tinctures and herbs. Glass is non-reactive and can be washed and reused.
Choose from mini bottles from 15ml to 100ml for essential oils and serums, square oil bottles and water bottles up to 1 litre, cosmetic jars and wide neck jars for creams and butters, and apothecary jars up to 2 litres for dried herbs and teas. We also stock a handmade violet glass charging bowl and a 500ml wine bottle.
Buying guide
Choosing the Right Glass Container
- 01
Match the container to the contents
For essential oils, serums and tinctures, use our mini bottles from 15ml to 100ml. For carrier oils and infused oils, the square oil bottles hold 250ml or 750ml. Creams, balms and butters go in cosmetic jars or wide neck jars, and dried herbs, teas and bath salts suit apothecary jars.
- 02
Violet or clear glass
Miron violet glass is a dark violet glass designed to block most visible light, which helps protect light-sensitive oils and liquids. Clear glass jars work well for dry goods you want to see, kept out of direct sun.
- 03
Cleaning and reuse
Wash glass in warm soapy water, rinse well and let it dry completely before refilling, since trapped water shortens the life of oils and butters. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as pouring boiling water into a cold jar, which can crack glass.
- 04
Labelling
Label each container with its contents and the date you filled it, so you always know what is inside and how old it is.
