Glass Apothecary Jars
Our glass apothecary jars have airtight glass lids and come in 250ml, 500ml, 1 litre and 2 litre sizes. They keep dried herbs, spices, loose-leaf tea, bath salts and clays fresh and easy to see on an open shelf.
The airtight lid keeps out moisture and air, which helps dried ingredients hold their aroma for longer. The smaller sizes suit spice racks and bathroom counters, and the 1 and 2 litre jars work for pantry staples and bulk herbs. Glass is non-reactive and easy to wash.
For creams and butters, see our wide neck jars and cosmetic jars.
Using Glass Apothecary Jars
Sizes and uses
The 250ml and 500ml jars suit spices, loose-leaf tea and bath salts on a counter or shelf. The 1 litre and 2 litre jars hold pantry staples, bulk dried herbs, oats, cotton pads and larger batches of bath salts.
Keeping contents fresh
The airtight glass lid keeps out moisture and air, which helps dried herbs and teas hold their aroma. Make sure ingredients are completely dry before you add them, and keep jars out of direct sunlight, which fades colour and scent.
Cleaning
Wash jars and lids in warm soapy water, rinse and dry them completely before refilling. A soft brush cleans the seal area around the lid.
Labelling
Label each jar with its contents and the date you filled it. Clear glass makes it easy to see when you are running low.
