Description
This lidded bowl is handmade from Miron violet glass. It is sold as a charging bowl, and people use it to keep small things out of the light on a dresser or kitchen counter. Because each bowl is made by hand, the shape and the thickness of the glass vary a little from one to the next.

Why violet glass
The glass is Miron, a deep violet glass that looks black until you hold it to the light. It stops most visible light from reaching the contents while letting violet light pass. It is non-reactive, holds no odour and can be reused many times.
What fits in the bowl
- Dried herbs or flowers you reach for often
- Rings, earrings and small jewellery
- Sugar or salt on the table
- Fruit on the counter, covered
The bowl is a counter and shelf piece, not a travel container, since the lid sits on top rather than screwing on.
Filling and care
Wash by hand in warm soapy water and dry fully. Handle the lid and bowl separately, since the lid is loose glass.
