This 250 ml apothecary jar is the smallest of our violet glass apothecary jars. It has the old pharmacy shape, with straight sides, a short wide neck and a flat glass stopper that lifts straight off.

Why violet glass

Miron glass is a dark violet glass. It blocks nearly all visible light and lets through only violet light, so the contents sit in near darkness even on an open shelf. Glass does not react with oils or absorb smells, and it washes clean for the next batch.

What fits in a 250 ml jar

• A spice you use every day
• Loose leaf tea for a week or two
• Dried lavender or rose petals
• Cotton pads or hair ties on a bathroom shelf

250 ml holds about 100 g of loose tea or a standard bag of whole spices, and it fits on a narrow spice shelf.

Filling and care

Wash by hand in warm soapy water and let the jar dry fully before refilling, since moisture trapped under the stopper spoils dried goods. Lift the jar by the body, not the stopper.

FAQs

Can it hold liquids?

The stopper lifts off and is not a screw cap, so the jar is meant to stand on a shelf. For liquids, use a bottle with a threaded cap.

Will a bag of tea fit?

Yes. About 100 g of loose leaf tea fits, depending on the leaf.
