Why violet glass
The glass is Miron, a deep violet glass that looks black until you hold it to the light. It stops most visible light from reaching the contents while letting violet light pass. It is non-reactive, holds no odour and can be reused many times.
What fits in a 250 ml jar
- Whipped body butter or a shea and oil blend
- A pre-wash hair mask made with batana or ojon
- Sugar or salt scrubs
- Clay masks mixed in advance and kept dry
250 ml is the size most people pick for body butter: about 150 g of butter whipped with a little oil fills it.
Filling and care
Wash by hand in warm soapy water, rinse and let it dry fully before refilling. The colour is in the glass itself and does not wash off. Label the contents and the date, since you cannot see through the glass.
FAQs
Can it hold liquids?
Yes, the screw lid closes the jar for storage. For oils you pour often, a bottle with a narrow neck is easier to use.
How much butter fills 250 ml?
About 225 g of solid butter, or around 150 g once whipped with air.
