Laurel leaves are synonymous with ancient Roman and Greek gladiators and scholars who were crowned with laurel leaves after a victory. As it is an indigenous plant to the Mediterranean, laurel leaf has formed part of the local landscape, making it a traditional source for medicine.

Botanical Name: Laurus nobilis.

Plant Family: Lauraceae.

Method of Extraction: Steam distillation of the dried leaves and branches.

Origin: Indigenous to the Mediterranean region.

Plant Description: A medium-sized, evergreen tree with dark, glossy leaves. It produces black berries.

Main Chemical Components: 1,8 cineole (oxides).

Uses: Soothing to the skin, soothing for the soul, promotes glowing skin, cleanses the skin.
