Carrot Seed Oil
Common English Name: (Wild) carrot.
Botanical Name: Daucus carota ssp. sativus.
Plant Family: Apiaceae.
Method of Extraction: Steam distilled from carrot seeds.
Origin: Indigenous to Europe and various sub-species of the plant developed from here.
Plant Description:Wild carrot has an inedible, white root, quite different to the domestic carrot. It has umbels of white, lacy flowers.
Main Chemical Components: Beta-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E.
Blends Well With: Other carrier oils; essential oils.
Uses: Itchy skin, damaged skin, irritated skin, dry skin, oily skin, aging skin.
Fun Fact: Flemish refugees introduced the carrot into Britain during Elizabeth I’s reign (1558 – 1603).
Cautions for Use: Possible skin sensitivity. Use with carrier oils.
